I can't imagine anything worse." -- That's one Orinda, CA resident's reaction to a town plan to lease an unused library building for use as an overnight shelter for homeless families and elderly. That's right: homeless families and elderly people. It's an interesting issue -- an upscale suburb facing the fact that in their county, if not so much their town, there are people who need shelter services who aren't the infamous homeless hordes of downtown San Francisco. Can they turn their backs? Looks like no -- good for them.
