Students put up posters on Monday (MLK Day, don't forget -- apparently that means a hushed reverence falls across the land and we are forbidden to speak of "race" or color in any but the most mealymouthed terms) nominating a South African student to win the school's "Distinguished African-American Student Award." One hitch: the kid's white. Lots of uncomfortable squirming ensues. Discuss!
